ITOCHU CERATECH CORPORATION was established in 1960 as a manufacturer of various refractory materials primarily used in the iron and steel making process, in Seto City, Aichi Prefecture, which location is known as one of “The Six Ancient Kilns” of Japanese heritage. Over the subsequent 60 years, leveraging our accumulated proprietary technology centered on sintering techniques, we have developed and provided a diverse range of products.
For example, our spherical ceramic sand (CERABEADS®), which we began manufacturing and selling in 1986 following refractory materials, is a reusable casting sand with excellent fluidity, heat resistance, and low thermal expansion properties. It has been highly valued by customers as a material that can address issues such as depletion of natural resources, regulatory waste disposal, and improvement of work environment to protect workers from crystalline silica.
Furthermore, our carbon-neutral related catalysts(AERONITE), which started with the development of catalyst carriers (cores) using technology cultivated through the development of ceramics, have been adopted as catalysts for various devices that contribute to the realization of a carbon-neutral society, such as hydrogen production and utilization, and carbon dioxide utilization.
Our mission is to continuously provide products that create value in the spirit of the Sanpo-yoshi (good for the seller, good for the buyer, and good for the society) by leveraging our originality and ingenuity backed by our advanced technological capabilities, along with the comprehensive strength and network of ITOCHU Group. We will continue to look towards the future and pursue our Corporate Philosophy of "Challenge to become a 100-year corporation that is friendly to the earth and people !”
